It allows you to find any tether point and watch how it should be installed to create a secure attachment point on your tool. When you’re done, your tool will be ready to attach your tool lanyard and begin work.

Instant Tether System™

Instructions

Step 1
Select the correct D Ring Tether for your tool.

Step 2
Cut a length of Tether Tape™ long enough to wrap around the tool at least 8 times. Remove the plastic backing.

Step 3
Check the tool is clean and locate the D Ring Tether, ensuring that the label is facing up. Wrap the Tether Tape™ around the D Ring Tether, leaving the webbing catch exposed.

Expert tip: Leave the label free so that it can be easily inspected.

Step 4
Ensure that the Tether Tape™ is firmly stretched during application. The self-fusing technology is activated when stretched between 5-10% and causes it to fuse permanently.

Step 5
Test the tether point before putting the tool into use.

You will need:

Tether Tape™Large D Ring Tool Tether / Small D Ring Tool Tether / Non-Conductive D Ring Tool Tether, Scissors

 

Tether Loop™

Instructions

Step 1
Select the correct size of Tether Loop™ that allows enough room for lanyard connection.

Step 2
Pass the Tether Loop™ through a captive hole or handle in the tool.

Step 3
Align the thumb screw and the threaded head and tighten until fully locked.

Step 4
Permanent Fixture Option – Apply a small amount of Locktite threadlocking glue to the thread before finally tightening.

Step 5
Test the tether point before putting the tool into use.

You will need:

Tether Loop™, (Optional: Locktite Threadlocking Glue)

 

Tether Ring™

Instructions

Step 1
Select the correct size of Tether Ring™ that allows enough room for lanyard connection. For shaped tools, ensure that it is small enough not to slide off.

Step 2
Use pliers to separate the Tether Ring™ and thread onto the tool, in the same manner as a key ring.

Step 3
Test the tether point before putting the tool into use.

You will need:

Tether Ring™, Long Nose Pliers or Split Ring Pliers

 

D Ring Loop Tool Tether

Instructions

Step 1
Pass the loop end through the captive handle or hole of the tool.

Step 2
Lift the D Ring end over the tool and pass through the open loop to create a cinch.

Step 3
Pull tightly to secure.

Step 4
Test the tether point before putting the tool into use.

360 D Ring Loop Tool Tether

 

Tether Choke™

Instructions

Step 1
Pass the loop end through a captive handle or hole.

Step 2
Lift the V Ring end over the tool and pass through the open loop to create a cinch.

Step 3
Pull tightly to secure.

Step 4
Test the tether point before putting the tool into use.

You will need:

Tether Choke™

Tether Choke™, Single Arm

Instructions

Step 1
Pass the loop end around the handle of the tool. Ensure the securing arm is facing away from the trigger if using on a powered tool.

Step 2
Pass the V Ring through the loop end to securely cinch around the tool.

Step 3
Cut a length of Tether Tape™ long enough to wrap around the tool at least 5 times. Remove the plastic backing.

Step 4
Wrap the Tether Tape™ around the securing arm, leaving the webbing catch exposed. Ensure that the Tether Tape™ is firmly stretched during application, as this activates the self-fusing technology.

Step 5
Test the tether point before putting the tool into use.

You will need:

Single Arm Tether Choke™Tether Tape™, Scissors

 

Tether Choke™, Twin Arm

Instructions

Step 1
Pass the loop end around the tool.

Step 2
Pass the V Ring through the loop end to securely cinch around the tool.

Step 3
Cut 2 lengths of Tether Tape™ long enough to wrap around the tool at least 5 times. Remove the plastic backing.

Step 4
Wrap the Tether Tape™ around the securing arms, leaving the webbing catch exposed. Ensure that the Tether Tape™ is firmly stretched during application, as this activates the self-fusing technology.

Step 5
Test the tether point before putting the tool into use.

You will need:

Twin Arm Tether Choke™Tether Tape™, Scissors

 

Helmet Lanyard

Instructions

Step 1
Pass the short end through the helmet accessory slot.

Step 2
Push the end through the clamp and close tightly.

Step 3
Check the lanyard is securely attached to the helmet.

Step 4
Attach the Tough Teeth™ clip to your garment and check that it is securely fastened.

Option
If the accessory slot is not available, attach the loop end to the helmet’s harness system.

You will need:

Helmet Lanyard

Coil Helmet Lanyard

Instructions

Step 1
Pass the loop end through the helmet accessory slot.

Step 2
Pass the clip end through the loop and tighten.

Step 3
Check the lanyard is securely attached to the helmet.

Step 4
Attach the Tough Teeth™ clip to your garment and check that it is securely fastened.

You will need:

Coil Helmet Lanyard

 

Tape Measure Tether

Instructions

Step 1
Open the Tape Measure Tether and release the velcro adjustment system.

Step 2
Place the tape measure inside and tighten the side adjustment system.

Step 3
Pull the upper flap over the tape measure firmly and fasten. Repeat with the lower flap to close.

Step 4
Holding the tape measure, test the tether point before putting into use.
