Soft Goods Textile Designer
Location: Poole HQ (with flexibility for freelancers who can visit us regularly)
Type: Full-Time (or Freelance with Office Visits)

From rescue bags used by mountain rescue teams scaling icy peaks, to industrial backpacks braving fiery infernos, our products are the lifeline for emergency professionals who never back down. Now, we’re on the hunt for a Soft Goods Textile Designer to help us push the boundaries of design, function, and durability.
Who You Are
You’re not just a designer; you’re a problem solver with a passion for innovation. You see textiles as more than materials – they’re tools for creating life-saving gear. You’re a capable project manager who thrives on being in control of the entire process, from the first prototype stitch to the final production run. You’re also a natural collaborator, skilled at working with industry professionals and production partners to bring designs to life.
What You’ll Be Doing
• Designing high-performance industrial bags and backpacks built for extreme environments.
• Crafting rescue bags for emergency services like mountain rescue, fire, and first responders.
• Translating ideas into reality with hands-on prototyping (sewing machine skills are a must!).
• Managing the entire design and production process, ensuring smooth transitions from concept to completion.
• Collaborating with emergency professionals to understand their needs and incorporate feedback into your designs.
• Partnering with production teams and suppliers to ensure designs meet the highest standards of quality and durability.
• Innovating solutions that combine rugged durability with sleek, functional design.
What We’re Looking For
• Experience in textile design, ideally paired with an industrial design background.
• A strong portfolio showcasing your expertise in designing soft goods or similar products.
• Proven ability to manage projects, keeping timelines and quality standards on track.
• A passion for good design, with an eye for detail that doesn’t miss a beat.
• Confidence in prototyping – you’re no stranger to a sewing machine.
• Excellent collaboration skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with professionals across industries and production teams.
• A hands-on, solutions-driven mindset that thrives on problem-solving.
